Bates College graduated 469 students from 36 states and 36 countries on May 26, 2019. Cumulatively, the Class of 2019 performed 80,000 hours of community service, exemplifying Bates' commitment to community learning and civic action.

Thanks to a $10,000 Davis Projects for Peace grant, the recent Bates College graduate will return Rwanda help develop a curriculum on critical thinking and debate.

217 Bates College students presented research at the 18th Mount David Summit. The annual celebration of academic achievement highlights undergraduate research; student creative work in art, dance, theater, music and film/video; projects conducted in the context of academic courses; and community-engaged research.

Four hundred and fifty-nine graduates were conferred the degree of Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College on Saturday, June 15, 2019, the culmination of four years of study in the liberal arts.

Over 300 Carleton College students were recognized May 31 at the 2019 Honors Convocation. A cherished Carleton tradition, Honors Convocation draws the campus community together to celebrate the academic accomplishments of Carleton students and faculty.

More than 830 students have been named to the spring 2019 Dean's List. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must have carried throughout the semester a course load of four or more graded credits with an average of 3.5 or above.

At the 187th Commencement ceremony on May 26, Wesleyan conferred 763 bachelor of arts degrees; 44 master of arts degrees; 22 master of arts in liberal studies degrees; and 11 doctor of philosophy degrees.

Nineteen students participated in the Career Center's NYC Immersion Day. The visit to New York City allowed students to explore potential career interests through site visits, panel discussions, and alumni networking. Visits were hosted by young alumni who discussed how Hamilton's liberal arts education and alumni network prepared them for diverse career choices after college. The program was initiated in January 2017 to help students explore different industries and jobs to make well-informed career decisions.

The Maurice Horowitch Career Center helps students integrate their liberal arts education into a lifetime of career achievement and satisfaction. Discovery Team peer advisors are students who have been trained to assist other students with career development topics such as writing resumes and cover letters, networking, and interviewing. Connect Team network associates engage fellow students in industry-specific career-related exploration such as searching and applying for opportunities and building networking skills.

Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.3 or higher while completing at least three courses for a conventional letter grade earn the spring 2018 Dean's Award for Academic Excellence.

Carleton College awarded the Bachelor of Arts degree to 475 graduating members of the Class of 2018 on Saturday, June 9 at its 144th Commencement Ceremony.

Some 3,072 students were awarded degrees during the University of Vermont's 217th commencement ceremonies. Alexander Nemerov, alumnus and one of the nations' leading art historians and scholar of cultural history, delivered the address.

In all, Bates honored 10 men and 10 women from the Class of 2019 on the basis of leadership potential, academic excellence and promise, and service to the college community. These individuals earned an average GPA of 3.87, made a rich diversity of extracurricular contributions and submitted thoughtful essays in support of their candidacy.

In recognition of academic excellence, the dean's list is drawn from the top ten percent of students in each class.
